MASTER’S
DEGREE/GRADUATE EDUCATION IN HEALTHCARE INFORMATICS AND HEALTH
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
For healthcare
professionals who wish to prepare themselves for advanced practice
responsibilities in healthcare informatics or information management; e.g.
corporate executive, consultant, vendor product development,
organization-wide information systems planning and project
implementation, etc., Minnesota
offers graduate level educational opportunities.
The College
of St. Scholastica
began a Master of Arts in Health Information Management in 1997 and in
November 2002 it became the first in the nation to be approved by the
American Health Information Management Association.
The College also offers several graduate level certificates:
- Healthcare Informatics
- EHR Strategies
- Project Management
- Revenue Management
- Nursing Informatics
Both the Master
of Arts in Health Information Management and the Certificate programs are
offered through the College’s Department of Healthcare Informatics
and Information Management and they are designed for delivery to working
professionals across the nation.
The Master’s Program and the graduate level Certificate programs
are all designed for distance delivery. The Master’s Program can be
completed in 7 academic terms and each of the Certificate programs can
generally be completed in three academic terms.
