CERTIFIED CODING SPECIALIST (CCS and CCS-P) PROGRAMS

The Certified Coding Specialist (CCS and CCS-P)is a professional skilled in classifying medical data from patient records generally in a hospital and/or physician-based setting such as physician offices, group practices, multi-specialty clinics or specialty centers. Coding accuracy is very important to healthcare organizations and providers because of its impact on revenues, describing health outcomes and compliance. Accordingly, the CCS credential demonstrates tested data quality and integrity skills in a coding practitioner.  All programs listed below are approved and certified by AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association).

The Certified Coding Specialist (CCS and CCS-P) requires a high school education and successful completion of the respective certification exam. The following one-year certificate programs are offered in Minnesota:
